Specialized Rooms
The 24-room MNIF, housed in the north hall of the basement of Bessey Hall has: two specimen preparation labs; two ultramicrotomy suites, a light microscopy suite with digital compound and stereomicroscopes, a scanning and transmission electron microscope suite, a scanning electron microscope suite, a copy room housing a Bencher photoduplication system and macrophotography equipment; an autoradiography/in situ hydridization and developing suite containing an isotope incorporation hood, balance, cryostat, tissue culture shaker, refrigerator, oven, and processing sinks; a dish washing/prep room with deionized water system and autoclave; a conference room with a library, a computer suite, and a four-room complex for teaching.
